Building Blocks (Weens) Installations

Pictured here is an ongoing project that started with my BFA Thesis exhibition. Each time these pieces are installed in a new space, they take on a new personality, molding to the anatomy of the site in which it is installed. The individual forms were inspired by the first piece of my Hooded Figures series. My Hooded Figures series specifically speaks about the effects that hormones, specifically testosterone, has on the clitoris when taken during hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Testosterone causes the clitoris to lengthen and grow, creating something colloquially called "T-Dick." This modular installation has expanded upon this idea by introducing different shapes and sizes, further reinforcing the notion that we are each individual and unique, but still fundamentally the same. These Building Blocks are also not just limited to the clitoris, or even genitalia. They can resemble any part of the body on any given person. From the second installation and onwards, I also incorporated pieces from an older installation "Dancing Yeast Cells."
